In 2019 just before the old metal and glass greenhouse of the College of Biological Sciences Conservatory was demolished to make way for a larger space to house their expansive collection of rare plants from Minnesota and around the world, I had a chance to install collage materials, including some images of the plants themselves, inside the room for carnivorous plants. Carnivorous plants have developed incredible strategies to thrive within unique habitats I wanted to celebrate the colors and patterns in these plants and also to follow their lead, adapting my work to the site. I was an Artist-in-Residence at the CBS Conservatory in 2017 and continue to find new ways to engage with this educational collection of plants.
